500 ft up the trail from Koosah Falls (towards Sahalie Falls) you'll find
- From I-5 exit onto I-105 and head east to Springfield
- At second light turn left onto Hwy 126 (note milepost numbers
increasing as you head east on 126).
- Few miles past McKenzie Bridge is the junction for Hwy 242 near
milepost 54. Continuing on Hwy 126 the milepost numbers do an odd thing -
they restart at milepost 19 and start to decrease.
- Near milepost 5 on Hwy 126 turn left at sign for Koosah Falls/Ice Cap Campground.
the minor falls I dubbed 'Upper Koosah':
Continuing farther up this path you will encounter Lower Sahalie Falls,
eventually reaching Sahalie Falls.
Although one could drive up to the Sahalie Falls parking area, it is usually overflowing with cars.
Best to park at the Koosah site and walk the 0.4 miles along the McKenzie River to Sahalie Falls.
You can't beat the scenery.
Rest facilities available at this site and the Sahalie Site.
